At eight years old, I was a young client of The Planet myself, eagerly awaiting the summer time when I could build and R/C cars, play with models, launch rockets, and invent toys in the Woodshop. At only twelve years old, I was given my very first job by The Planet, where I learned that “play” and “work” didn’t have to hold two separate meanings. I have worked at The Planet almost every summer since, and also help out from time to time during school holidays. The Planet has become much more than a day camp or even a job, it has become my second family!
Having gone through mainstream educational institutions from preschool all the way through college, I can attest that there is no public academic program anywhere which approaches the quality of learning and socialization that is offered at The Planet. While many parents may think of us as an “extracurricular” activity, it has become clear to me over the years that what we do is not only fun and beneficial, it is essential.
Jordan is always there when we need him. When he was still young and not so busy with his carreer, he helped out in the woodshop. He was barely out of highschool when he sat up our first website. In 2005 he volunteered many hours to re-design our site. Now, in 2009, he still finds the time in his busy schedule as film-maker, to answer any computer, or other, questions.
